Jamaica Tallawahs is leading the tournament with three out of three win in this year’s CPL. They are one of the favorites to clinch the title as they are a strong force to reckon with. Captain Chris Gayle has already announced his intentions with the first century of the Caribbean Premiere League. SO, it will be difficult for any team to stop Jamaica Tallawahs if this man gets going. A formidable opening pair of Gayle and Walton ahs provided great starts to the team and they will hope to do the same in their match against T&T Red Steel.
T&T Red Steel are no paupers in this tournament either. They are sitting pretty at second position with three out of four wins. The solitary loss came off a super over which was won by Guyana Amazon Warriors thanks to the brilliance of Sunil Narine. This will be one of the closest matches in the tournament so far. Both teams have great T20 players who have played in various T20 competitions around the world. Dwayne Bravo leads Red Steel and will be raring to go up against Chris Gayle. Both are well known commodities in the IPL and have tasted success. Both have been captains of West Indies as well so it will be a fierce competition.
Red Steels will certainly focus on getting rid of Chris Gayle early. A solid partnership will make it difficult for the T&T bowlers to contain the runs. Getting Gayle out early can turn out to be the deciding factor as the rest of the Jamaica batsmen have not really been tested in this tournament so far. Samuel Badree will be the best attack for Red Steel against Chris Gayle who can get a little stuck against the spinners especially early on.
T&T have a great batting lineup with their foreign recruits Kevin O Brien and Ross Taylor hitting good form. The Bravo brothers pulled off a great win against Guyana Amazon Warriors just the other day. Darrren Bravo provided an excellent finish hitting six off the last ball to seal the win for his team. This will give them tremendous confidence while taking on Jamaica Tallawahs. Jamaica is looking strong at the moment but the momentum is certainly with T&T Red Steels at the moment. I favor Red Steels slightly in this match to break the winning streak of Jamaica Tallawahs in the CPL.
