The World Twenty20 is only days away and we have brought you two teams in which we think will be provide a great deal of value on the betting front for this competition.
Our first pick and arguably safer pick, is that of Australia to win the competition at odds of 4.00. The Aussies are flying at the minute and after their recent success against both England and South Africa, should mean they are full of confidence.
They aren’t back to their best though just yet and we have already mentioned in previous articles just how important a role spin will play in the competition. They actually don’t include a front line spinner as such, although Nathan Lyons is doing a pretty good job.
Their strengths lie with the bat and their fire power from the likes of Warner, Clarke, Watson and Smith will likely see them posting substantial totals on what are expected to be pretty slow pitches. The slow pitches will mean that you need to have that X-Factor about you as a seam bowler to get anything out of them; luckily for Australia, they have Mitchell Johnson bowling 150kmph!
Our second pick and one that might offer you up a little more value is that of the West Indies to retain their crown at odds of 9.00. For the first time in a long time, they have a world class spinner at their disposal in the form of Sunil Narine. He’s an absolute magician and can turn it both ways, bamboozling the English batsmen as we type. Although, that’s not too hard at the minute!
To accompany this they have the fire power in their batting line up with the likes of Gayle, Samuels, Sammy and Bravo. They may even go into the competition with the attitude of simply going out just letting the opposition get what they want before chasing it down. This sounds a little simplistic when reading it back, but it’s their never say die attitude that we are outlining more than anything.
We thus find great value in them at 9.00 and is an easy pick for the World Twenty20.
